It should be noted that they are mainly fighting near Iraqi Kurdistan or what they consider to be a part of their land. The Pesh are some badass mother-blam!-ers, man. One of the best things about them, imo, they are largely pro-American. I think we should also be helping the Kurds in both Iraq and Syria in their fight against ISIS. Hell, the Kurds will also have to be involved in a new Iraqi government.

  • What's even better, American troops had a fairly positive view of the Kurds.

Most definitely. I've read numerous articles and books regarding US SF ops in Iraqi Kurdistan in the lead-up to the invasion and they literally had nothing but positive things to say about their fighting style. While both AQ/ISIS and the Kurds are fanatical in what they believe, the Kurds are fighting for their home. They are fighting for their way of life, which is incredibly peaceful and they are wonderful people. Unfortunately, they are also one of the most oppressed people in the world (historically). Turkey will eventually have to relent on their opposition to an independent Kurdistan, especially if they would like a boost in their economy. The only viable route for an oil pipline to a coast for shipping is through Turkey.
