This has a bearing on her presidential ability in that it shows that she has a lack of morality in that she displayed pride over the rapist's not getting his full sentence while knowing that he had done the deed. She's also a 'supporter of women.' But yet she, knowing that the rapist was guilty, she made lies about the victim. It contradicts her image as a supporter of women. This'll indefinitely hurt her publicity, as she is listed as immoral and a liar. A normal person wouldn't see a person with those qualities as fit for being a president.

Setting aside the boasting/ lying portion, was it not her job previously to achieve the best possible settlement for a client?

She did her job (for free too) in great length. But it's going beyond what she was supposed to do.

Lawyers are supposed to obtain the best possible outcome for their clients. She didn't go beyond shit, she did exactly what any lawyer would be expected to.
