That's like saying anything 343 does for Halo isn't canon. Sad truth is it's not canon anymore. They may draw inspiration from previously established stuff, but the actual events never happened unless they say it happened.

What I'm saying Is that books and games can be cannon, EXAMPLE Halo legends and the Halo books are not cannon but the video games are, you see the problem with Disney?

Note I said they can draw inspiration or even say specific events are canon. They probably wiped the slate clean instead of having to pick through over 30 years of content to figure out what clashed or was just pure crap (EG the Force Unleashed 2.) So until they say otherwise, everything before the switch to Disney is not canon, they are the ones who expand the lore now.
