Tricorn comes from tri-corner, mainly used to describe the hat popular in the 17th&18th centuries - as worn by Captain Jack Sparrow. The tricorn symbol just has three 'corners', which admittedly are round. I'm hoping a tricorn hat will be a top tier unlockable helmet.
