I'm not much of a film buff. From the movies on your list, I have only seen these: One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest (1975) Raiders of The Lost Ark The Godfather Silence Of The Lambs Enter The Dragon (Only a very long time ago, though.) Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King Saving Private Ryan The Shawshank Redemption The Godfather Part II Alien (1979) The Shining Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope E.T. The Fugitive Forrest Gump The Dark Knight Jaws (1975) Gladiator True Grit (1969) (I like the new version better.) The Karate Kid (1984) (Only a very long time ago on TV when I was three or four years old.) Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

Morgan Freeman said I was a pleb for my movie taste.

Movies> Books> Games
-
Games > Books > Movies, although it's not really a fair comparison because they each tell stories in such different ways. I like all three of them. It just comes down to personal preference, and I happen to prefer the immersion that comes with playing a video game.
-
You're right it comes down to preferences. I've had more immersion from movies and books than I've had games.
-
Books are great because you can imagine most of the world. For example, with only text to guide you, you can make the main characters look and sound like anything you want. But I prefer the sense of control that you get from playing a game, especially a game like Mass Effect where you have a direct impact on the story.
-
Here's an idea. A VR book where you CYOA (chose your own adventure). You hear everything the character you chose can hear, yet you chose where the story goes.
-
An interactive radio drama? Sounds like it'd be cool.
-
We should make a thread about it. Someone might make it a reality.

Edited by car15: 6/11/2014 9:21:35 AMGet Joseph Staten on that shit ASAP! He wrote Sadie's Story in ODST. What if the phones... rang? And what if you could... answer them?

Staten, Kojima, and Druckmann are god tier.

I'm making the topic. What should I title it?

What do you think of my list?

I like most of the movies on your list that I've actually seen. The original True Grit is okay, but not great. Everything else that I've seen is great, though.
-
I thought the new True Grit was on there. I'll change that.
