Sparrows and Shrikes
So, we've seen Sparrows and Shrikes, our personal vehicles, but do we know what upgrades can we have? We hear that we can have durability, speed, acceleration, etc, etc. Though, what else can it do? When we use it will we be in 3rd person or 1st person? Can we run over any of the Fallen and just laugh? What do you guys think of upgrades and such, could it be possible that there are more upgrades? Maybe an upgrade where we can also use the Sparrow (or shrike) as an offensive vehicle and equip turrets on it. It might be stretching to far, but though Bungie hasn't gotten to details besides the facts that it looks awesome, not only that if you're with other people, you get to look like your in a futuristic biker gang! We also get to keep it when we have our ship. What do you guys think, what upgrades would you like to see? Comment in the comment box :D

Not sure why people are still on this, a pretty old thread lol But to answer the questions that answers are probably already known.. Shrike is a variation of Sparrow vehicles. From what I remember, it can have a speed upgrade and braking upgrade. The durability is pretty much "how much damage it can take in combat before it blows up". When you use the Vehicle, it's in 3rd person. Yes, you can run over Fallen. The upgrade seems nice and helpful, it could be possible there will be more variations of upgrades, but that will likely depend on the vehicles rarity.

2 RepliesI did see one video of the Alpha where a guy did run over a Fallen. I do not think he killed it though. I don't remember the URL or name of the video creator. On a Vehicle related question for any of you that played the Alpha PvP. Can you hijack a vehicle in PvP or not? I realize that a personal vehicle likely can not be, but public vehicles in the Moon map look like anyone can take one. So is there a button combo or such to kick someone off the vehicle and steal it - as we could in Halo? Thanks in advance..

we do know that you can buy the sparrows that have upgraded abilities... the lvl 20 faction sparrows grant a lateral movement button added on.. in older vidocs/interviews there was mention of upgrading sparrows.. but whether that meant buying better ones or that there would be actual upgrades to existing ones.. we shall see..and we can't buy the shrike. period.

8 RepliesThe only two speeders I have encountered are Pikes and sparrows. Not Shrikes. I'm a Shrike though. I was playing the alpha. I did customize myself. No one has ridden me yet.

Not everything needs to be upgradable.

1 ReplyYou can run over Fallen in any enemies with it and while you're riding you'll be in 3rd person view no customization or upgrades besides their durability, speed and boost

1 ReplySparrows (or shrikes) can be upgraded for better handling, durability, acceleration, and top speed. They can also get the ability to boost left and right aside from forwards. Deej confirmed though that no turrets will be added, but you can run enemies over if they have low health.
