I find it funny how this forum laughs at people who aren't afraid to speak out about what they feel to be a loss of rights.
Sure, this group has laughably failed a couple of times. But we can all agree that our rights are being squandered by both sides.
I find it funny how this forum laughs at people who aren't afraid to speak out about what they feel to be a loss of rights.
The group we're laughing at is blinded by rage and ignorance. What they feel to be a loss of rights is more of that they're complaining about society progressing forward rather than regressing backwards. The Tea Party complains about gay marriage, which has gotten a very quick and solid footing in America in a very short amount of time. The Tea Party wants a fundamental right taken away from a select minority and to keep a more traditional form of marriage (i.e. Marriage between man and woman only). The Tea Party is equating gun regulation with gun prohibition. Apparently, registration of guns or a psychological check to see if you're mentally stable enough to possess and use a gun means that Obama is taking away guns, even though he doesn't have a direct say about it, or even the power to take away guns. That's Congress's job, but that doesn't stop the Tea Party from blaming Obama for pretty much every single hot button topic. Do both sides squander rights? Sure, I'll agree with you there. However, you'll have to agree that one side is just more vocal about it, and is making more attempts than the other side to get rid of a citizen's rights. Hell, if Obama wasn't reelected, it would be still be the same. People would complain about Romney, and people would blame Obama for leaving Romney in the current state. The hate on Obama, and just Obama alone is getting really stale and old hat.
