Jesus -blam!-ing Christ they're going with that cliche?
Movie is going to suck balls.

I love how you can accurately asses a movie based on 1 piece of information. Can you predict the winning lottery numbers, please?
-
I actually like that title, its simple and mirrors A New Hope.
-
Eh, with luck this might have something to do with ancient Sith lords on Korriban or something, which would be really cool.
-
Which are all non-canon now remember. All of the EU was declared non-canon. Had it not been declared non-canon I could see some sort of re-emergence of the Rakattan Empire with a fully functioning star forge shit being cool. Or maybe something to do with the celestials. But no, we're going to get some completely out of nowhere ancient prophecy shit instead.
-
They say it's non-canon so that the neckbeards who complain when they portray a character "wrong" have no evidence to back themselves up, because that literature is no longer canon.
-
I guess The previously established books for every franchise that's ever had some sort of film adaptation should also be declared non-canon then. Hell 343i should go and declare anything other than the TV show coming out non-canon due to the fact that artistic license will end up altering some characters. But truly, if you aren't going to even make the effort to portray a previously established character correctly then whats the point of even having them in the film? You should just create an entirely new character if the only similarity is going to be their appearance. Shill more please.
-
The point of the character being the film will be for whatever reason the director wants it to be. Not for the same purpose of the original author. Shill more? What does that even mean in this conversation?
-
What is EU, and why was it declared non-canon?
-
EU = expanded universe. So everything that wasn't in the 6 movies is EU. Every game, comic, TV show, and book. Disney declared them all non-canon so that they wouldn't be constrained by previously established lore and could do whatever they wanted.
-
Actually the CGI clone wars series is canon. And every bit of new content from here on out will be too.
-
I don't blame them. It may be a devastating blow, but with all that canon and continuity errors, there would be a shit-ton they would have to account for.
-
Here's the thing, I personally would have been ok with them declaring all post ROTJ stuff non-canon. You lose a lot of good stuff, but it's understandable. What isn't is the fact that they've also declared all pre-movie stuff non-canon as well so the whole Old Republic era essentially never happened.
-
Shit, you're right. It's really hard to come to terms with everything I love being non-canon. And the only canon beyond the films now is that god-awful CGI cartoon. No Yuuzhan Vong No Darth Plagueis No Revan No Exile No Rakattans Oh god Disney what the hell is wrong with you
-
No Darth Plagueis
*cough* Revenge Of The Sith *cough*
-
Just because it's no longer canon doesn't mean they won't take elements from it and incorporate it into the films. In fact I'm pretty sure they said that they intend to do that.
-
If they were that ambitious they wouldn't have done one of the most overused cliches. Ancient evil prophecy shit pretty much always turns out to be retarded.
-
You do realize that working title is just a rumor right? That may not even be what it's called. Either way it far to early to condemn the movie.
-
The only thing that sucks balls here is you.
