The updated story has her lying about shooting him. It was actually one of his buddies. Her charges were downgraded.

Interesting. I guess that there was a video or they tested all people there for powder residue. Thanks for that additional information. I am wondering what the conversation was before the cops arrived. The newly accused shooter (in the pic) is now in deeper shit than if they had all been truthful from the outset. Conspiracy, providing false information, interfering with an investigation and a whole lot of other charges could now be filed against everyone who was there. Very curious.

They still believe the man put on the vest and asked to be shot and it was negligence rather than intentional murder. No idea why the girl would lie about being the shooter, must have thought they would go easy on her, or maybe had a thing for the shooter or something. Being that there were 8 other people there at 3AM on a Wednesday, I'd assume it was a party. Would be pretty surprised if there was no video of the shooting.

Total speculation on my part, but I wonder if the newly identified shooter has a record and it was discussed/decided that the young woman would make a more "sympathetic" defendant. Either way, there's plenty of stupidity to go around for the folks who were there.
