My thoughts on how to de-radicalize a terrorist.
-Capture him.
-And under heavy and weaponized guard, escort him through various locals of the "enemies" side. Let him see how his hated "enemy" lives, works, prays, plays, raises their children, and governs.
-Repeat.

I can't shake the feeling that allowing them to see the decadence of western civilization for themselves will simply strengthen their twisted beliefs.

Perhaps taking them to New York and having them stay at the Ritz would be a bad idea. But the basic idea is to educate. Not to mention that it's a lot harder to blow up a person once you've seen their face and know that they aren't the evil you've been told. It's one thing to teach it, to see pictures, and it's another thing to experience it.
