Flame orb is generally seen as better for guts users as it's not as easy to just stall out. Also guts facade swellow is pretty popular on a Pokemon showdown, and works pretty well.

It's good but I'm sure you know it's fragile begin a flying type in this meta game AND losing HP every turn.

Oh I know, I've just been using my non-EV trained story mode Talonflame for in-game flight purposes all this time and felt like a change. I never use the Talonflame in battle so I figured I'd get something new that I can use both for battling and flying me.

I'd recommend training a hidden ability max attack Talonflame, putting SR's aside priority brave bird can [i]TEAR[/i] teams apart not to mention it can learn roost too.

Not really a fan of Talonflame but I'll give that a try. Can any gender parent pass down abilities?

Yes, I believe males have a lower chance to do so if I recall correctly.

Should I go for Adamant? He's already fast.

Well that's a real toss up, personally I'd go with jolly to have that extra speed to beat out a good majority of other Pokemon because you're already getting an attack boost from have guts.
