Interesting to be sure. However, I am a little concerned how communication will work in the tower. If you want just a one on one conversation with someone that is easily solved by just inviting them to your fireteam. For widespread communication such as trading (when it becomes available) or looking for replacement player for a raid, then there is a problem. In regular MMOs, there are channels with text for all to see if you so wish. Unfortunately, the primary mode of communication on consoles is either email or voice chat. I would not prefer my email box be bombarded by spam or hear a discombobulated mess of people shouting over one another trying to advertise their message. How then would bungie solve this problem?

My guess is the communication in Destiny will rely on a few different things: - The built-in console party/messaging system - Fireteam-chat, in-game party system - Companion app - Gestures/emotes
-
Perhaps they will utilize the party chat tool built into current systems.
-
Maybe that's where the companion app and bnet could come into play.

Deej explained communication at the tower in a interesting way from the interview at eurogamer. Would you like the link for that?
-
Could I have the link to that interview, I wouldn't mind checking it out
-
My mistake! Its really Ausgamer: http://www.ausgamers.com/features/read/3434451

Sounds like to me that we will have worded text to talk to other players in social areas, thats what it sounds like to me
-
We still have the implementation of the ghost that other guardians can use to revive us and such. There's still a lot that destiny analyzers are going through, accessibility seems like something that bungie is pushing for. I'm hoping it will be as simple as shooting a notification to talk.... If you don't have a mic then what else can you really do?
-
The video sound isnt working, its all static

Well here's what Deej said that really struck out to me: "You did leave out The Tower. We didn’t take you there yesterday, but that will be a great social hub where Guardians can get together and socialise; they can strut their build, and they can have wonderful conversations that will hopefully lead them into the action together -- maybe they admire each other’s gear or a weapon, and say ‘where did you get that?’, and they’ll be able to have a great conversation like ‘oh, this? I got this on my favourite Strike. Ever been to Mars? We can go right now’. "

Ya true, I read that, is there anything else that is interesting or is it all info we know?
-
As far as communication. We can only speak amongst our fire team.... beyond that. Not really
-
I think the companion app will have chat built into it, thats my guess
-
Yeah that's what I was worried about. It will probably be one of the negative points in the critique of Destiny but hopefully after Destiny they can build upwards and onwards in Destiny 2.
