The US had been the global leader, the world's number one economy since 1872. That means we have held the record for 142 years, and in less than five years Barack Obama is causing the United States to lose the top spot. There's no excuse for this!

No, they don't. Obama can say whatever he wants, but ultimately, he's going to sign a budget - he isn't going to let us default or have the government close (Unless unnecessary things are tied to the budget, but that's different). It comes down to the House (Republicans) and Senate (Democrats) to negotiate spending. They each have the same weight.
