I believe the factions are for the guardian's, and it's been confirmed that enemies will fight against one another, as for together, I had seen footage somewhere of I believe vex and hive walking together, I'll see if I can find it, but I believe each faction is fighting to stake a claim to what we left behind, mainly resources, so it's more of who's going to get what from the silly humans
