What system would you prefer to live under?

North Korea's

8

Somalia's

So I guess the question being asked here is would you rather live in an oppressive totalitarian despotic regime, or a completely anarchic system devoid of any laws or rules? I guess this all depends what kind of person you are really.

  • Somalia is not an anarchy.

If we are going by being forced to live there for a long time rather than which one would you like to try and escape from.... North Korea is best Korea. I'd rather have a relatively stable country run by a fat little idiot than live in a country where you are as likely to be shot and eaten by your neighbours and dragged out to sea to go pirating/get rekt by the International Navies. I prefer authoritarian and order over anarchy and 'liberty' but that's just me.

Things in Somalia are actually getting better, and there's a new central government which is actually functioning. Sure, there are bomb attacks, but it's not total anarchy anymore. Not to mention that there's an enormous reconstruction project going on in Mogadishu (its capital)

      • OT: Somalia. Both are as equally oppressive, Somalia is just less decentralised in being so. Accordingly, being in a system of decentralised oppression makes it easier for a subject to assume the role of oppressor. Much in the same way it'd be easier for somebody to climb into a giant bowl than a giant cup.

      • Anarchy is always better than a police state.

        • Somalia, if I knew what I was doing I'd have a good shot at survival. At NK I'd probably be shot if I said something wrong.
