visually, I see a lot of reach in destiny. this isn't too surprising considering they probably recycled a lot of stuff from the reach engine. why would they build a completely new engine from scratch for just one game?

Edited by FairlySplendid: 4/21/2014 10:46:50 PMAll of Destiny's engines and assets are new, built from scratch for Destiny. The visual similarities you're noticing are a result of the same group artists having a hand in developing Destiny's look. Destiny is not one game. It's a ten-year franchise with four games.

I'm talking about reach in that last sentence

The 2014 GDC Character Customization panel makes it sound like Halo's engine (including Reach's) is too slow, limited, and cumbersome for Destiny. I do not believe Destiny's engine was up and run during Reach's development.
