Yeah I expect there are similarities in there somewhere, I love Reach. Best multiplayer in the series.

  • Reach really did have an incredible multiplayer. My two favorite Halo games are Halo 2 (mostly for nostalgia's sake since that was the Halo that got me into the series) and then Reach because everything just felt so refined and feature rich once Bungie got to the last game in the series they would develop. Starting from the first Halo, I feel like Bungie re-invented and improved itself with each progressing entry. It wasn't until Halo 4 that I felt like the series started to decline. Don't get me wrong, I think Halo 4 is great too but with the exception of the fast-paced combat of Halo 4 (which I love), it feels like they took the basis of Halo Reach and just scaled everything backwards while also introducing unoriginal ideas that didn't belong in a Halo game.

  • Where have you been my entire life my friend lol I agree on everything you said. Halo 2 was the best campaign simply as the gfx on the xbox at the time was the best thing I had ever seen and the music was just perfect for every situation. The music made that game. Also playing as a Shangheli (Arbiter) for the first time was amazing to see what the covenant was like. I would have loved an Elite campaign in Reach as the Elites already had their own perfect models, run speed, and shield type.

Halo 4 on the other hand has a fantastic campaign, but for those who never read the books it did not explain the main Forerunners very well at all, nor the reasons for the actions. You had to read the books and watch the terminals to understand. A good example was my friend who played all Halos but never read the books didn't understand the plot. I found the multiplayer to be awful in all honesty. The game engine, at first glance looked good, yet when looked at under detail was tacky and of such a lower quality than Reach. Also adding all the elements that resembled CODs style upset me more as it was no longer unique. Some other game that looked like Halo, felt second hand to me. The lighting effects where fantastic, but draw distance, J-peg looking backgrounds, dead enemies and dropped weapons disappearing. Ruined the experience for me. It is in my opinion that Halo 5s campaign like 4 will be incredible, but they have some serious work to do in order to get that multiplayer on par with Reach. Even more work to surpass it. A Beta would definitely help make the multiplayer experience better.
