I seriously can not imagine why anyone would want to get high. I do not see the appeal of that.

Basically, some people want to ease pain, some want to relax occasionally with the euphoria, or some aren't doing it to get high and only using for the other benefits. At least it's a FAR superior alternative to alcohol, and that should definitely be addressed.

It's a way of releasing stress, just like how some people "pleasure" themselves to relieve stress, or drink to relieve stress, etc. etc. I see why people would smoke marijuana, but this is one thing that I, personally, am against, for reasons.

If you don't want to smoke pot, that's your prerogative. Just don't act all surprised when people use a substance that is objectively pleasurable barring specific allergies.

I have a social life, but that doesn't involve getting high and doing stupid shit. Believe it or not, there are people out there that don't like to use substances to act stupid and enjoy the company of people with the same train of thought.
