Been kind of thinking: Maybe the real reason why the darkness is able to control people is not through just mind control, but temptation. So I believe that in the game informer article, they say that the hive is powered by the darkness. So what if the different races have succumbed to the dark nesses power and are doing its biding for more?
Another thing that stuck out was Rixis. He seemed to have some sort of glide space magic. I am pretty sure that power didn't come from the traveler, so maybe Rixis was dealing with the darkness, and just hadn't become a mindless thrall addicted to power delivered only through death and destruction?

I've been thinking the very same thing. They talk about how the Traveler's magic is Light magic, so it's only natural to fight Darkness. I think some of the enemies we face will be channeling Darkness. I hope Guardians get the chance to use both, it could reflect on our characters well.

That might be interesting. I know plenty of people have been asking for that to be implemented into destiny.
