ITT: Angry Patriots, conservatives and children raised on the belief that America's military is full of righteous people who serve someone other than themselves.

You don't have to be a foaming-at-the-mouth conservative to see this as derogatory.
-
Shut up Turkey, just admit that you are wrong.
-
How is it derogatory?
-
The flippant attitude, generalizing, and the insult of comparing the military to a tournament where a corrupt government forces unwilling kids to murder each other for fun.
-
My friend who is 17 just received a bunch of mail from the military with "Will help you through college" on the front. So yes, clearly they're targeting younger people who need to go to college to get a job because they have to since they're poor/ So basically ye, corrupt government, unwilling kids, murder.
and the insult of comparing the military to a tournament where a corrupt government forces unwilling kids to murder each other for fun.
This is actually very accurate to today's society, so what is the problem?

Hi Camnator. How's it going? I see you're still as incoherent as usual.

Hello troll. Muted.

Did you get a head injury? 1) She's a comedian. The flippant attitude is expected. 2) She isn't talking about the military, she's talking about the cost of college. 3) It IS kinda like the Hunger Games in that many poor are told in order to pay for college, to escape poverty, they must serve in the military. 4) Yes, you can die in the military. Kids killing kids is put there by you. Do you get it? I'll explain it again: Poor people are told that the only way you can attend college is by having the GI Bill to pay for it. The Military can be very dangerous. In fact, its pretty much the only job that you can get that a firefight, Ambush or IED Attack is even a possibility. So, in order to escape poverty you could risk your life. That's what makes it like the Hunger Games. A dangerous competition that the winner gets wealth. The punchline is that the most a college grad can expect is a shitty desk job. That's both military and non-military alike. So the escape from poverty is into the arms of mediocrity. I can't believe that you didn't immediately see that.
I'll explain it again
The point is obvious. The complaint is in its execution.
The punchline is that the most a college grad can expect is a shitty desk job.
Besides being blatantly untrue, I fail to see how this is even a joke. Does the punchline of "veterans got duped into risking their life for little reward" make you laugh?

Except it is completely true. One look at the job market for college grads can show that. Go onto monster, put in your home town and specify requiring a college degree. What will you find? Mostly shitty desk jobs. Like 99% shitty desk jobs. Sure, you'll see one or two that look cool, but compare how often you find those to how many are crap tier desk jobs. Now, I am aware of the Hunger Games plot. She isn't saying that people in the military engage in a life or death game. Then she would have said its JUST like the Hunger games, or EXACTLY like the Hunger Games. She said its "Like" them. In the military you can risk your life. Or are you discounting the fact that they put themselves in harm's way for us?
