The Hive trooper fires explosion rounds at the Guardians, the Hunters Ghost icon appears in the upper right corner. The third icon for a super is white and then recharges if you watch closely, from each explosion. The symbol within the box is rather cloudy and hard to make out, but if you watch the Official Destiny PS4 Launch ViDoc 0:15, on the back of the Hunters Ghost you see what appears to be the same symbol. To support the idea of the Ghost having a defensive or buff ability.

The general opinion is that the ! sign is that the Titan is taking damage, it strikes me that you can see he is, why would you need a sign to tell everyone. Consider this, the exclamation sign appears above the Titan at about the same time as the Hunters Ghost icon appears. If the Hunters Ghost reacts to the explosion, how would your fellow Guardians know. The exclamation sign may be the notification that you have (or your Ghost) deployed a shield or buff. This way they may do so or the super for the Hunter activates the other Guardians Ghosts, a support roll for the Hunter.
