Gantz (Action & comedy)
Cromartie high school (pure comedy)
Shin chan (pure comedy)
Forget those other generic animes & give these a try.

The original plot for this anime was so ridiculous, the dubbers just did turned it into a comedy. and it's really -blam!-ing funny

The point in them sounding stupid is literally what makes the show funny also because in the english dubs they reference things english speaking people would understand to help in making jokes. So the dub for comedic reasons Is -blam!-ing glorious mother -blam!-er. Though we are all entitled to our opinions.
