Rule of thumb: Don't judge quality by price. Razer and Alienware are both perfect examples.

  • What would you say are good qaulity mice and keyboards?

  • Here's the thing, I can compare DPI and all those numbers that are misused anyway, but I'll tell you this. Throughout my moderate PC gaming career, I've used a standard Logitech Gaming mouse and keyboard. My mouse has some nice weight to it, as well as built in sensitivity buttons and 3 extra buttons. I think it was 50 bucks. My keyboard is a Standard Logitech gaming keyboard with a numpad, and some extra mappable buttons. Calling it a seventy bucks might be a stretch. Nowadays, whenever I see these 200 dollar mice that glow 19 different colours I scoff at them. My point is, figure out the things You want. A couple extra mouse buttons maybe, ergonomic design, a keyboard without chicklet keys. Maybe a little backlighting. Then get the cheapest thing that does that. That's how I got my Logitech mouse and keyboard, and no other expensive Razer or Steelseries mouse and keyboard ever felt as good.

  • But...half of my stuff is steel series. Well now that you read that it really is only a headset, which I use for everything, and a steel series rival mouse which I like very much.

I'll tell you what you're gonna want. Regarding mice, no specifics here. You'll want a big grooved design like this, with at least two or three extra buttons. If you can find it, get one with built in sensitivity buttons. And, one of the more important things IMO, is getting a mouse that has some weight to it. I used to snipe in Tribes with a crappy mouse that moved whenever I clicked because it was so light, and when every pixel was crucial, that's a pain. Try to stay under a hundred at most, and look for something maybe seventy-sixty bucks. Regarding keyboards, this is the one I use. Logitech G110 gaming keyboard. Has everything you could need, and wasn't that expensive. After that, I have three tips. One, the only Razer products that I would recommend are their massive mouse pads that you put both keyboard and mouse on. They're fantastic coasters too. Two, be cautious and sure about any accessory you spend more then about a hundred bucks on to start off your PC gaming experience. Once you know more, and are experienced, that's who the 2-300$ mice and keyboards are made for and marketed to. And finally three, Learn. You need to learn through experience. I got my experience through oblivion modding, and my Dad back in the day. You need to learn, then once you're sure of your knowledge, go nuts. Build multiple machines, get dual moniters et cetera.

  • Thanks! Gotta build my machine first! So I can actually use the mice and keyboards!
