Pretty much nobody recognizes the vote as legitimate except for Russia.

Well of course it wasn't legitimate. It was completely monitored by Russia, so no outside country (even Ukraine) could interfere (and we all know Russia has a horrible record for fair elections). And at the same time there were armed Russian soldiers at the voting booths. But it's not like any country is going to do anything about it, so Crimea joining Russia is just an inevitability.
