Outside of the US? I don't think so. Republicans are almost synonymous with "that crazy conservative gun loving party". I doubt that's going to change any time soon.

The OP asked if they could ever get rid of that image. I explained what the party comes across like over here and that I doubt they'll be able to change their appeal any time soon. I don't see how that's not relevant.
