Well for one, Romney only lost the election by like 2% and he had Paul Ryan. If Romey were a bit more open to gay marriage then he could have easily won the election
Republican party appears to be the party against science, education, women, immigrants, lgbts, anything not Christian, poor, and a myriad of other things
Except this is false brainwashing conducted by the liberal media. If you actually believe this then you are no different from the -godwinslaw!- who believed in a Aryan race

Romney lost by 4% or five million votes and 126 EC votes. That may not sound like much but it's a pretty decisive defeat. By no metric was the 2012 election close. Take into consideration the Republicans failing to capture the Senate and losing seats in the House and you can see there's something fundamentally wrong with the Republican brand. To say if Romney had only done X and he would have won is wrong. There were too many variables at play and too many hurdles for Romney to overcome. For example, Romney wasn't winning Ohio. Without Ohio he wasn't winning the election.

  • Kinda like how there's a not-insignificant number of Democrats who are in the category of gun-grabbers, socialists, tree-huggers, feminists, atheists, communists, and anti-rich? Both sides have an equal amount of retarded people; Democrats are no exception My family is majority hispanic and minority white, asian, and black; they they all vote Republican. I have plenty of friends who are lower-class, gay, atheist, and a variety of other things that consider themselves Republican as well. On the flip side, I know plenty of Christians and people who are terrible at science that consider themselves Democrat. What you are expressing is ignorance and judging an entire group of people based on the actions of a few individuals. No different than thinking because maybe a few blacks commit crime then all black people are criminals. Or if one soldier does something wrong then all soldiers are evil. Funny how you're 30 -blam!-ing years old and hold an idea comparable to a 13 year old

However, some of those aren't bad things. Why is being an atheist bad?
My family is majority hispanic and minority white, asian, and black; they they all vote Republican. I have plenty of friends who are lower-class, gay, atheist, and a variety of other things that consider themselves Republican as well.
That's nice and all, but how do you reconcile that with the fact that many Republican candidates [for various areas of government] do not support those people?
What you are expressing is ignorance and judging an entire group of people based on the actions of a few individuals.
It's not ignorance. These people get elected, which means one of two things: 1) The people who vote for them often act against their own interests or 2) The people who vote for them share those beliefs.
Funny how you're 30 -blam!-ing years old and hold an idea comparable to a 13 year old
I posted this to have an actual discussion, not to fling shit. Please don't respond if this is what you're going to do.

  • Well from the one of two atheists I see talking shit about religion/saying religious people should just die along with genocides committed by atheist leaders then obviously all atheists are bad Depending on what their actual stances are and how strongly they feel about it I may or may not vote for them. Like Democrats, there are many who don't support strict gun laws and gay marriage. How do you reconcile that? It is ignorance. While there are people who hold bigoted views, your taking those people and making it look like ALL Republicans are like such. Not only is that stereotyping but it's plain arrogant

My point is that those bigoted Republicans are soiling the name of Republicans who don't think those things. A turd in the punch bowl ruins the whole batch. What can the reasonable Republicans do to distance themselves from the Tea Party?
