You act like it is unreasonable. If it weren't for there being only one exotic per person it would cause the game to be terribly unbalanced, new players wouldn't stand a chance against a veteran. Bungie is just doing what is best for the players.

You can carry as many exotics as you want you can only equip one exotic weapon so far
