So far I've played and won as the Romans, Germans, Americans, Russians, Indians, Japanese, and French on Warlord as my highest difficulty. I really don't feel like going higher, especially since Shaka and Cleopatra can always be real dicks.

The Indians were my civilization of choice for beating Diety. It's a bit of a hit or miss with their special abillity, but I happened to plant my first expansion in a mountain region that had the perfect balance of fields then hills, then plenty of mountains for when I teched into courthouse and the railroad. Became a massive production center, and I was able to speed out some heavy culture wonders which allowed me to convert some nearby cities, including (a big one) a Russian city that had just been founded on the best island real estate on the map that I was super jealous of. A lot of things went my way very nicely. Greeks wanted my Mathematics and were trading Democracy for it (Ohokay), the Japanese were annoying militarily but never all-inned me, the French were happily generating enough gold and culture (but mostly just going for the gold victory), and somehow I stopped the Russians from expanding onto my chunk of the continent for a thousand years just by having a Caravan sit on the choke point between their subcontinent and mine. Like, the CPU had no way to react to that, it just sat there and was like >_> Goodness though, so many UI problems with that game, so much clunkyness, I was crying by the end. "WHY WON'T YOU GIVE ME A BUTTON JUST TO END MY TURN?"
