It's like this. >family gets rich selling duck calls >around the 90s it turns out your average redneck hunter isn't interested in doing business with millionaire country club mother-blam!-ers >for the sake of marketing they all grow beards, dress like slobs, and talk about JAYSUS AND STRUMMIN' OHN DA BAYEENJO
what's wrong about talking about jesus?
>later one of the guys does an interview about how God hates fags >A&E fires him >buttmad conservatards start bitching about how his free speech has been violated even though the First Amendment applies to the government, not private institutions
he never said god hated fags. he said homosexuality is a sin. and "conservatards bitching" ? bitch please..... the only people who bitch about the show are the butthurt libtards who hate religion and the show(such as yourself OP)

  • Actually, I don't know many liberals who watch or pay attention to that show. I remember it being in the news because it's fan base (which you must admit is largely conservative) was upset because that one guy got fired and they thought his right to free speech was being impeded (even though, as OP said, freedom of speech doesn't apply to private institutions, especially ones that have you under contract.)

i know it's a fairly conservative based show, and i am aware liberals don't really watch it. that wasn't my main point though. OP was saying conservatives were the only ones throwing fits. which is far from the truth. countless liberals complained about this dude's stance on things even before his suspension. It's a show that commonly emphasizes biblical morals. one guy from the show mentions one particular sin(in an interview, not on the show), and everyone is in a hoopla. i mean you know this guy is a christian and against the sin of homosexuality before he even said anything, so why is the world shocked? with that being said i don't even really like the show. (it's to rednecky for me.), but i am against hypocrisy.
as OP said, freedom of speech doesn't apply to private institutions, especially ones that have you under contract.
i agree with this, but this isn't the case here.

  • Ah, I definitely see your point then. Either most people don't think or they just didn't want him to actually say anything in regard to homosexuality but regardless you're right, definitely a ton of hypocrisy.
