I know that there are many Apple haters, but I have so far enjoyed my Airport Extreme. I haven't had to do anything to maintain it, nor has it crashed or anything. I've been able to extend its range with two Airport Expresses.

  • My Cisco E4200 has been flawless for me as well. I'm just looking for something that won't wreck my wallet as an AP though.

  • The E4200 is a great router. Not an eyesore. The other one I recommend, that I actually just recently installed, would be an E1200. I set it up as an AP to my existing network, and it works flawlessly. Looks didn't matter to me though, and neither did the price point. I just needed something that worked. And it works great.

  • That's not a bad looking router. Why not stick with it?

Like I said with my post, I have a primary router in the basement (the E4200) but I need a secondary router/AP for the second floor. The E4200 takes care of all the fancy stuff/features. I just need a good-looking and basic N300 device to access the network wirelessly from the second floor. The signal for my E4200 has a few dead-spots on the extremes of the house.

  • If apple's Airport Expresses will work with them (I have no idea) they aren't bad looking repeaters. I've got 3800 square feet covered with the router and two expresses.

  • They're a tad on the pricey side unfortunately. I payed around 100$ for the E4200, not sure I want to pay the same for an AP.
