Y U USE SINGLE CHANNEL RAM?!
-
Potential for 4x8GB. RAMDisk ftw
-
But RAMDisk is only useful for storing the temp and cache files as they get wiped on shutdown. You don't even need 1GB of RAMDisk lol.

>Get SSD >Load game into RAMdisk >Get uber fast load times

Edited by Derp: 3/9/2014 2:55:44 PMThat's only useful if you only play one game and you never shutdown, otherwise you have to load the game onto the RAMDisk every time your PC starts up. And you'll only be able to fit one game on it each time. Waste of time and money IMO.
-
Well yeah, you would only use it for one game at a time. But imagine you're playing an RPG with lots of loading screens *cough* skyrim *cough*, this would be incredibly useful.
-
Edited by Derp: 3/9/2014 3:09:05 PMI'd do it if someone have me an extra 16GB RAM for free. But otherwise it's just a massive waste of money. I could do it for some games on my 16GB... I could use 12GB for a game and keep 4GB for actual RAM. My Skyrim is way too big because of all the texture mods I've got running. :3

What's your graphics card?
-
780Ti. Listed my specs for you a long time ago I thought.

I forgot .-. 780 Ti? Holy sheeeeet!
I forgot .-.
Oh I see how it is... U 2 important nao?! *cries*
-
Nooooes! I wuv u Derp! Don go!
-
IIRC single channel RAM is less efficient than dual channel.
-
Nice my specs are very similar.
-
That's sexy.
-
Damn... I'm running an ASUS Rampage IV extreme, Windows 7 professional, Intel core I7 4930k, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780, two 1TB hard drives, 16GB Ram, and some pretty basic Blu-Ray players for optical and the basic NVIDIA audio.

Say whaaaaaat? That's totally awesome! Have you got your hard drives in RAID 1?
