It's a movie with some stealth gameplay. It's not as bad as Beyond: Two Souls though.
-
It's a game with cinematic cutscenes and a lot of gameplay. Beyond: Two Souls has plenty of gameplay too.
-
Beyond: Two Souls didn't have any gameplay. Tell me anything about that game that was gameplay other than tapping the odd button here or there in QTEs
-
Everything other than the cutscenes was gameplay.
-
Not really. It was Jodie running about. You tap a button. Most of it was direct cutscenes anyway.
-
That's gameplay. Everything that wasn't a cutscene is gameplay.
-
Really shit gameplay if you ask me. The storyline was the only good thing about it and it didn't even have branching choices like in Heavy Rain. Moreover, if you didn't engage in the QTEs, you wouldn't die anyway. So literally nothing you do affects the gameplay. So how can you call it gameplay? If there's no fail state then that's not gameplay that's pressing a button. A challenge is whereby you can die. There's no challenge here. Just masturbate and the game'll soon be over...
-
Moreover, if you didn't engage in the QTEs, you wouldn't die anyway.
You don't die in the Fable games. I guess they don't have gameplay either. Same with the Lego games.
So how can you call it gameplay? If there's no fail state then that's not gameplay
Just because you can't fail doesn't mean it's not gameplay. There's nothing that states there has to be a fail state for it to be gameplay.
-
You're right, Fable and Lego games don't have fail states. They're just button pressers. It's not gameplay. It's not challenging. It's just tapping buttons like a retard.
-
Nothing nowhere states that there has to be a fail state. Gameplay is just interaction with a game. There doesn't have to be a fail state of any sort for it to be gameplay.
-
Yes it does otherwise it's not a game. A game is supposed to have interaction. If things occur regardless of whether your pressing buttons then you might as well not bother. And if you're not pressing buttons then you're not experiencing gameplay, you're watching a well-animated movie.
-
A game doesn't have to have a fail state for it to be a game. Everything you've said regarding this is one o the most moronic things I've ever read. There's nothing that dictates that a game has to have a fail state for it to be considered a game.
-
Wrong.
