Lol @ some of the people in this thread. The graphics have been downgraded therefore the whole game is gonna suck or something.

Or because we don't like being lied to.
-
Meh. Ubi does it with a lot of they're games, it should be more or less expected. Plus they're not lieing to you anymore, if you're really unhappy about it you can still cancel your pre-order at this point.
-
I know they do. But that's besides the point. It shouldn't be acceptable for them to do so, so them telling the truth now doesn't really negate lying to us for 2 years. I don't even have it pre-ordered, and I won't until I know more about this situation. I will[/i ]be unhappy if the console version drags down the PC version though.

You need to hurry up with your transition to your PC elitist gimmick, it's taking a while.

Edited by BritLemon: 3/8/2014 4:42:23 PMI have my PC... I'm sorry that I don't want the PC version to be dumbed down because of consoles. I also love how you completely moved off of the original topic, as usual ,just in attempt to make an argument. And a lot of the "PC master race" stuff I post is a joke. You seriously need to lighten up.
-
I don't understand how a game can be dumbed down because of consoles.
-
Because developers focus on the console versions. This isn't anything new. A few examples are Assassins Creed games, Far Cry 3 and Skyrim. AC is terribly optimised for PC, unlike consoles. Because they focused on the console versions more. You still run into materialisation on PC, which wouldn't happen if they didn't half ass it. Far Cry 3 was dumbed down graphically so that it would run on consoles, and this affected the PC version. Skyrim was dumbed down a lot too. Just look at when you attack Whiterun or Windhelm. You have like 6 people with you. This affected PC because there were only that many people with you on PC too, instead of having a lot more. So yes, consoles do drag PC versions down. Hopefully it isn't the case with Watch Dogs and The Division.

Edited by Logfish111: 3/8/2014 4:54:06 PMYou're forgetting about all those people who own less powerful PCs, there are plenty of them. I guess they're helping to kill gaming as well right? Also, it would be pretty stupid for the devs to cater to a minority, why would they do that?
Also, it would be pretty stupid for the devs to cater to a minority, why would they do that?
Firstly, because games are made on PC. And then they can just dumb it down for console versions. Why should outdated hardware in consoles hold back platforms that are capable of much more? All of that potential is going to waste by dumbing down PC version because of the consoles. It wouldn't be any less cost efficient of try did that. But hey, I get it that you enjoy holding back progression. And in fact, there are more Steam users than there are XBL users or PSN users. So PC gamers are far from the minority. But this is you I'm talking to. If you had it your way, you'd shut down Sony and stop PC gaming so MS can have a monopoly.
-
Why should outdated hardware in consoles hold back platforms that are capable of much more?
Obviously because no one wants to play on PC. It can't be all that great otherwise the devs wouldn't have to rely on consoles to sell games.
-
Obviously because no one wants to play on PC.
Uh-huh. Nice bait. If that's the case, why are there more Steam accounts registered that are active than there are XBL users or PSN users?
-
Show me proof.
-
I'll correct myself. Steam has more active users than XBL. PSN has more than both. This article is from January. Steam: 75 million users XBL: 48 million users PSN: 110 million users Steam is a few million short of having more users than the amount if Xbox 360's sold.
-
Oh so it's only counting xbl gold. Pretty stupid.
-
How would you count offline users then?
-
I would count the silver accounts as well.
-
Maybe it has counted silver accounts?
-
And maybe it hasn't.
-
Either way, 75 million people is a considerable market for the PC

Edited by Logfish111: 3/8/2014 6:00:44 PMThen take away all the people with low-mid tier PCs, leave the people with high end ones. How many do you have left? Not very many, Idk shy the devs would cater to these people. There is no reason either, so they don't bother.
-
Then take away all the people with low-mid tier PCs, leave the people with high end ones. How many do you have left?
Do you know what adjustable graphics settings are, my friend?
-
But why should the devs put so much effort and resources into improving tha graphicz when hardly anyone will play it that way?
-
No. You misunderstood my point. Adjustable settings to allow lower end machines to function.
-
Edited by Logfish111: 3/8/2014 6:22:01 PMNo. I understood your point perfectly. You missed my point by the looks of things. Try reading my post again.
-
I think you should read mine again. You have no understanding of how you can cater for each tier of computer hardware.
