American Football is a life style, one that our friends across the pond do not appreciate or understand, I don't think the NFL will succeed in Europe

We can say the same about Football/soccer to you guys as well. Also I hate the whole "It's a lifestyle", No it's a bloody sport that you treat like a bloody religion and it's so goddam annoying that nothing is more important than the game.
-
No, its a lifestyle. Its a business. Its not just a sport.
-
And beating your wife so you can watch the game on a sunday is just part of that right? These sports have ruined people and made them fanatics that would kill you just for liking a different team. We have had riots in the UK over a game of football, the beautiful game my ass. I wish it would just fall apart and collapse, a sport should not be a business, it should be played for fun not profit. (I don't mind a wage like in Rugby which is around £50,000 compared to £3 million of a footballer)
And beating your wife so you can watch the game on a sunday is just part of that right?
lol what?
No it's a bloody sport that you treat like a bloody religion and it's so goddam annoying that nothing is more important than the game.
Kinda like how you idiots view soccer?
-
I hate football with a goddam passion, the fans do my head in......the beautiful game yet it breeds violence, racism, hatred, homophobic and sexual attacks, basically everything wrong with humanity can be attributed to the sport. And yet it's the beautiful game, a bunch of idiots no smarter than a 5 year old kicking a ball earning millions of pounds, beating people up in night clubs, running people over and avoiding jail or -blam!- women while at the same time being treated as gods. They train for 2-3 hours a day and get £300,000 a day and kick a ball into a net which they can't do 90% of the time and then complain they work hard and deserve the money while at the same time increasing the season ticket prices by 780% in 5 years. Pffft, never call be a football fan.

Edited by Regret: 3/4/2014 7:52:28 PMDo you ever think before posting?
the beautiful game yet it breeds violence, racism, hatred, homophobic and sexual attacks, basically everything wrong with humanity can be attributed to the sport.
This isn't unique to football, it happens a lot of popular sports. The FA are trying to deal with it, but they can only do so much.
And yet it's the beautiful game, a bunch of idiots no smarter than a 5 year old kicking a ball
If it's so easy, why don't you do it?
earning millions of pounds
Those idiots are professionals, you will never be anywhere near as good as they are, they earn that money fair and square, there are only a select amount of people who are good enough to play football at that level, that's why they earn so much. You can't be trained to be that good, it takes natural skill and talent, which very few have.
beating people up in night clubs
And once again, the violence isn't unique to football, it's more to do with the culture of clubs.
running people over and avoiding jail
Please provide proof of repeated offenses where they got off jail time.
or -blam!- women while at the same time being treated as gods.
Sounds like you're jealous that you can't get any. I wouldn't say they're treated as gods, they're respected because they're the best.
They train for 2-3 hours a day and get £300,000
They train for longer than 2-3 hours a day. I'd say several hours a day, every day, every week during the season. They need to be in peak physical condition, it isn't as easy as going to do squats for 2 hours at the local gym.
a day and kick a ball into a net which they can't do 90% of the time
Once again, if it's so easy, go and do it. You don't just pick the ball up and throw it into the net.
and then complain they work hard and deserve the money while at the same time increasing the season ticket prices by 780% in 5 years.
Don't think I've heard a footballer complain about not getting enough money, they also don't control the ticket prices, go complain to the business side of the club.
Pffft, never call be a football fan.
You won't be missed.

For a brit you seem ignorant on the sport and what appears in the news, are you a fan or not?

No point arguing with the 1st point since you agree it happens. 2. Do what? Play football? Nah I gave up playing in high school because I was sick of playing it for 50 times a year 2 times a week. 3. Once again kicking a ball around a field does not mean they deserve millions of pounds in wages, you have surgeons and judges getting paying £100,000 a year and you think a footballer is worth far more to society to be paid 100x what a judge/surgeon/ leader of a country gets? Remember there are only a select few that can do other jobs like the ones I just listed, far more people play football. Also David Beckham has done little to dispel the myths surrounding footballers - that they earn way too much money, marry models or pop princesses and aren't, well, the brightest buttons in the box, writes Liz Ford. His recent admission that he found his six-year-old son Brooklyn's homework difficult left us a little speechless. "It's totally done differently to what I was teached [sic] when I was at school, and you know, I was like, 'Oh my God, I can't do this'," he reportedly told the Mail on Sunday. 4. So clubs encourage violence? Alright..... I will admit it happens to other Sports personality's as well. 5. Can't find anything about hit and runs on google but a few mentioning how they dodge a jail sentence. 6.Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez was today handed 250 hours of community service, a six-month driving ban and a £1,000 fine for driving offences. The 29-year-old had earlier pleaded guilty, with the aid of an interpreter, to driving while disqualified and without insurance as he stood in the dock at Macclesfield magistrates’ court. Magistrates heard the Argentinian – who gave his full name as Carlos Alberto Tevez – has not yet got a British driving licence, partly because he has struggled to pass the theory test which is conducted in English. They train very little and earn a lot of money, just read this. 9. What makes you think I can't kick a ball into a goal? They miss most of the time, mine are stopped by the goalie, completely different. 10. I wasn't talking about a footballer complaining about more money, I was talking about the business being increased The figures from 1989-90, collated for the Labour government's Football Task Force, show the cheapest season ticket at Anfield was just £60 and £96 at United – the equivalent prices with inflation would be £106 and £170 now – but the actual lowest-priced season tickets this season are £725 at Liverpool and £532 at Old Trafford (1,108% and 454% inflation respectively).
2. Do what? Play football? Nah I gave up playing in high school because I was sick of playing it for 50 times a year 2 times a week.
If it were as easy as kicking a ball around a field for millions, I'm pretty sure you could get over your high school horrors and become a professional.
3. Remember there are only a select few that can do other jobs like the ones I just listed, far more people play football.
It's a hell a lot easier to become a surgeon or judge. If I really wanted to, I could become surgeon or judge, it wouldn't be easy, but I could do it. I'm pretty good at football, but I couldn't become a professional if I wanted to, it doesn't work like that.
4. So clubs encourage violence? Alright..... I will admit it happens to other Sports personality's as well.
Lots of drunk people near each other will never end will, this is the same if a footballer happens to be there. Also, a celebrity in a club is going to attract attention, both good and bad. All it takes is one drunk guy to harass that celebrity to make his friends laugh, and it spirals out of control.
5. Can't find anything about hit and runs on google but a few mentioning how they dodge a jail sentence. 6.Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez was today handed 250 hours of community service, a six-month driving ban and a £1,000 fine for driving offences. It shouldn't happen, but it does, and it isn't simply a result of football.
8. They train very little and earn a lot of money, just read this.
Again, they're the best, they earn the most. It isn't as simple as working hard, you need to be gifted, very few are gifted.
9. What makes you think I can't kick a ball into a goal? They miss most of the time, mine are stopped by the goalie, completely different.
You couldn't even move 10 meters with the ball if you were playing against professionals. You really need to watch more football before you start complaining that it's a bunch of people missing the goal. It's nowhere near as simple as that.
That's called being a business. The demand is there, so they charge high prices. Seeing as it's the most popular sport in the world, I'm pretty sure people are willing to pay those prices. Just because you can't afford it on your chip shop salary doesn't mean it should be lowered.

Football is pretty dam important in America. And if you don't like it or baseball then you're not American. I'd cut some slack for baseball though. Football is clearly the best sport in the world. And I don't have anything against soccer. It's just American football takes so much more strategy and planning than most people would think. It's not just snapping the ball and running towards the in zone. And it's probably the one of the most physically demanding sports there is.
-
Rugby has actually been proven to be the most physically demanding, (I am aware you said ONE OF most demanding) I am just putting that out there. Also like I said I don't care about the sport, I just hate the fanatics that would rather let their children starve or beat their wives so they can watch the game and threaten to kill players who dare change teams
-
Lol. I know what you mean man. I'm not like that. I got my team and that's the New England Patriots.. And tbh. I don't watch football that much. I'm 16 and a sophomore in highschool. I play football currently and the thing about it that people don't realize it that it really Is a lifestyle when you play it. I work out everyday and drink protein and take amino acids and stuff to get stronger for next season. I guess it just bothers me that people think sports like football or rugby are just games. Well they basically are but from the players view. It's a huge lifestyle. And it's really hard work to to get better for the next season. And it's literally everyday for me. Lol. And I'm in the off season. We don't start playing games until like August. But we train all year. It's freakn hard
