Banning guns won't stop gun violence. Last time I checked, criminals don't follow laws.

Well then, if criminals aren't going to follow laws, there's no point in having them either, is there?
-
Laws keep the majority in line. The majority of people aren't going to go on a killing spree, unless they knew they couldn't get in trouble.

You're trying to address laws that prosecute crimes that occur after the fact (ie. murder), correct? How about laws that prevent crimes, or at least deter them or make them as difficult to commit as possible, before the fact?
-
I said "keep the majority in line". That is about preventing laws. I see where you're coming from though.

Everyone who supports gun control needs to read this, along with this. Say you do ban guns, then boom. The black market for weaponry will explode, and probably increase the odds. Criminals DO NOT follow rules. So what good would banning guns do? None. It will just harm the Americans that use weaponry to defend themselves. Your move.
Criminals DO NOT follow rules.
Then what good are any of our rules? Why even bother with traffic rules or speed limits? Or making -blam!-, murder and assault a criminal offense? The people who have the moral compass not to commit those acts will refrain from them and the criminals don't follow the rules in the first place.

So they can be prosecuted.

Which doesn't prevent the crime from happening. What does stop a crime from happening, or at least makes commiting them all that much harder, are preventive measures.
