According to Bungie, trolling will be greatly reduced in Destiny due to the fact that players have to work together to complete missions. If one player begins to troll, all other players that notice can deal with it.

  • How will we deal with it if we notice it?

Right i kinda wish they had Dedicated servers. Having Clans who have admin powers are a good thing. Yet it will never happen on a console. So i have heard about that i am glad i will not be stuck with some one like in halo who for the whole MP match is a douche. One of the Reasons Why i cannot play Halo 3 too much in Mp. Rather Play Custom Games. Reach you can do much much more and most people are pretty mature for the most part.

It is not a good thing because most server admins abuse their power and just kick/ban if people beat them and make up stupid rules. Not to mention stacking the servers. This is a little less apparent on PC because the the Clan leader/server admins seem to not have a god complexity.

First i ever heard of that. I play DOD 1.3 not to mention i am in a Clan and many people make sensible rules for each server.(I have been to quite a few servers) Most of them revolve around hacking or cheating. Not to mention respecting others, No spamming the mic and its hosted by each clan. Some have minor rules but nothing over the top like it could be no quick switching to cursing over the mic. You might think a rule is stupid but plenty of servers that want regulars to come in. If it is done on the steam model and clans are pretty fair, Otherwise people do not come into the server any longer and paying for it will not be affordable when they need to have donations to keep going. I think Destiny is not going to need it due to a few indications but i would love to see it done as quite a bit happens in Mp and people should be held to higher standards. So it would need mature and responsible people with no god complex and a good grasp on just having fun. Problem is when things become unfun and no admin around then you have to wait till next round. Bungie did really good in Reach. So having a dedicated server would allow clans but people will avoid that clan/people if the are a public one if they ban on dislike or whim. You should only ban if its necessary.

  • Dedicated servers are fine in games in DoD 1.3 where the community is small and strong. But when you put it into large AAA games, you get the worst server admins possible. You start getting rules like, no grenades/explosives. No shotguns, no silencer attachments. I'd rather not trust the idiotic masses when it comes to running competitive servers. If you want a custom game only server, I'm fine with that, but when I queue up or go into a multiplayer match, I want to be playing by Bungie's rules. Swearing or trash talking won't be a problem in Destiny they've already stated you can only talk to your fireteam/squad.

  • True but bungie normally does not do them so it should not be a worry. Not sure how steam does it but they seem to have a good handle on things when it comes to Dedicated servers. People have to pay for them so i would also check on how steam does it further to make them responsible in some capacity. So i agree as it would be better to do the Clan/Guild thing like WOW then ? It can be made and the like but it has no real admin powers ect.
