I can totally understand the desire to see your character and their vechile - especially given the level of customisation that Bungie have promised us. ...However I personally feel FPS games generally control a lot more smoothly than 3PS, which kinda makes sense since you're not looking over your character's shoulder which results in the mind having to make a slight adjustment all the time to control movement. Solo play at least in campaign has been confirmed for quite some time, as has (thankfully) the fact other guardians who see you can't just start a PVP match by firing on you... I do wonder if Strikes and Raids can be played solo and indeed if playing solo would even work in those game modes.
