Great read. More people need to become aware of this kind of practice among these mega publishers. Look at what EA has been eroding, the once great franchises they bought, into.

  • Don't forget the SimCity horror show. And the SWTOR let down because EA wanted it out by xmas, not mid-late spring. They turned Crysis into a #lolCoDconsoleclone.

    You know, I have a sneaking suspicion that part of the reason that Destiny's launch is in September has to do with waiting for the "conditions" to be right. Not only for Bungie, but for PS4/PSN and X1/XBL too. September seems like just enough time to iron out any unexpected network or hardware issues that may pop up. Plus, more time to drum up hype and interest.
