Not get insta-killed. Even though Bakken said that the pace is much faster and the lethality much higher than Halo, I hope you can still turn the fight around if you are caught off-guard (like in Halo).

Urk and DeeJ did go on to clarify in Game Informer that Destiny's PvP pace was more in line with that of H2 (so no insta-death), just faster paced. However, the traditional Halo tactic of heavily relying on your shields will probably get you killed.

Edited by FairlySplendid: 2/23/2014 10:57:12 PMThe Game Informer Podcast: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/podcasts/archive/2013/12/26/special-edition-podcast-bungie-destiny.aspx http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/1trsbv/game_informers_destiny_podcast/ Here's a quick bulletpoint breakdown of the podcast: I'm paraphrasing and skipping over questions that weren't actually answered... * Ghosts play a major role in the story and gameplay. He is our companion, our ally, our guide, a tool, and a character in the story. * Halo was not so much an inspiration as a milestone. They were inspired by many different games. But hopefully, you'll see *Bungie* in Destiny. * The "speed" of gameplay varies from activity to activity, mode to mode. Some modes like story-missions have a slower cadence that lets you really take in the world. Others, like strikes are meant to be quick arcade-like, clear the room experiences. PvP's pace was described as somewhat reminiscent of Halo 2. Faster, but map control is still important as well as being tactical. A truly skilled player can still turn a fight around with a couple well-placed shots. * Destiny won't have straight-forward difficulty settings like "legendary" or "heroic". Those terms don't exist in Destiny. Instead modes, activities, and instances will vary. Their answer gets REALLY vague here... Raids will be truly difficult end-game-like activities that you shouldn't jump into immediately. Without first leveling and advancing your character. * Deep level of customization. Example given was the Hunter's cloak and the Titan's belt/sash. Pattern, shape, color, texture, etc... * A lot more stuff we've already heard before (always-online, even in solo mode) and more stuff they are not ready to talk about yet. * They are not ready to discuss forge. They still haven't finalized what tools they will be providing for community content creation. * New Podcast in January.
