GTA does it. And they glitch the hell out of it. But I still benefit by playing legit and I don't feel like I'm wasting time building two bank accounts when I could just build one that both characters ransack from time to time.

YES BUT GTA IS FREE ROAM ONLINE, IN THIS THE ONLINE HAS CAMAIGN COMPONENTS, SO EACH NEW CHARACTER IS LIKE STARTING A NEW CAMPAIGN

But it's also free roam. A persistent world isn't a linear campaign on the rails.
