I just realized something. You had to zoom in on a character's eye just to see the difference. You can't even see the difference between 4k and HD unless you literally have your eyes pressing against the screen. What's the p oint of it?

It's not zoomed in so you can see the difference in quality. It's zoomed in so you can see the difference in the number of pixels.

When looking at a 1080p HDTV and a TV with 5k resolution, there's a noticeable difference. The picture is much more smooth, with deeper shadow levels and more vibrant colors. I know we're talking about 4k here, but I imagine 5k wouldn't be much different from 4k.

You've never seen a 4K monitor yourself, have you? The computers we have in media class have those and the difference is outstanding.

As you can see from having to zoom in on an eyeball just to see the difference.

The picture is like that to make it easier to show it. If it was zoomed out, you wouldn't notice since you're likely not on a 4K monitor. Having it like that is like trying to show 3D on a 2D screen.
