My Xbox 360 Elite's output
Current settings are apparently 1080p in widescreen... Isn't that better than some Xbox One games? Or is the Dashboard alone 1080 and the games are 720?
My screens output is also 1080p at 60Hz (which I'm pretty sure means FPS).

5 RepliesEdited by AngryBrute: 2/21/2014 10:26:58 PMOn the back of the game boxes, they say what the games are rendered in. If it is rendered in 720p, the 1080p will just upscale it a bit. The dash, I think is just 1080p by default and adjusts to your settings.

Frame rate pertains to the game or video being watched, and is independent of your display's refresh rate. Your TV could be at 60Hz, but the game's frame-rate could be anything: 30, 60, 120, 6000, etc. If your display's maximum is 60 Hz then you won't notice a difference past 60 FPS. (Typically televisions can run at 60, 75, or 85 hertz.)

Your dashboard is in 1080p. Your games are 720p upscaled. And yes, 60Hz means your display supports and can output up to 60fps.

It might make it look a little upscaled but its still 720.

The 1080p widescreen doesn't necessarily apply to the games. In this case it's referring to your dashboard.
