we have a decent 2D engine and we are working on our 3d engine :D sooooo yaaaaa all we really have to add are mechanics but that's all actual dev stuff

so in terms of graphics, what would you say you are at?

the quality of graphics we can achieve are at no question my friend :D

So its not quite developed, or your saying they are early 2000's era graphics?

No :) we can achieve as high a resolution as we desire we work with phong shaders and we are currently implementing forward rendering, so we are up-to-date the only deciding on the look of the game is the art-style.. we have to "trick" our engine into running 8/16 bit games basically
