When you say paradox free, do you mean alternate timelines will be created, but will cease to exist once you time travel again?
For example, if I killed someone in 1985 and then travelled to 2000, they wouldn't be dead because the method of time travel is paradox free. But if I killed someone in 1985 and then continued to live in that timeline without time travelling, would things be altered and different to that of the main timeline?

The timeline revolves around you. Whatever you do in the past will affect future outcomes and events, unless it affected your future self directly (like killing your parents). Anything done in the future will simply take place then, but this future is your present. (And since you have multiple times of existence, don't be surprised to see your dups returning to yourself)
