An NHS. So public, I guess. It's comforting knowing that if I get run over or something, I wouldn't have to worry about needing thousands of pounds that I don't have to pay it.
Mfw my comment makes up more than half the thread!:D

You wouldn't. I would have to pay for you. That's the problem with it.
-
So you don't want to help people not die from issues that might not be their fault?
-
I'll say the same thing I did to the last 5 people who said this. Read the rest of the thread before jumping to false accusations. If someone has a disability where they cannot support themselves then I'm ok with helping them. If they have any way of supporting themselves they should be mature enough to do so. Why should I work to support my family and I but you don't have to? You can just take my money.

Darn poor people buying their caviar and champagne with the food stamps my taxes paid for. I need that money for a third bedroom, but they go off and spend it all on 'food' and 'essential services'.
-
Darn poor people buying their cigarettes and alcohol with the food stamps my taxes paid for
I agree
-
"Households CANNOT use SNAP benefits to buy: Beer, wine, liquor, cigarettes or tobacco Any nonfood items, such as: pet foods soaps, paper products household supplies Vitamins and medicines Food that will be eaten in the store Hot foods" Taken from your government's Department of Agriculture site so.....why are you outraged over something that isn't even possible?
-
They can in NJ. I've seen it happen first hand.

Edited by RIP Tuna Man™: 2/9/2014 7:02:38 PMHave you read the rest of the thread? Or did you just read one thing and jump to conclusions? You did get one thing right though. I hate the idea of food stamps. People sitting on their ass eating food that I bought for them, while most of the time not even looking for a job. Sounds like 30 year old kids. Which is exactly what they are. Childish; think they just deserve what they're given.
-
"You have no idea what you're talking about. Now please excuse me while I validate everything you just said." You conservatives, you crack me up
-
Edited by RIP Tuna Man™: 2/9/2014 7:27:57 PMYou liberals crack me up. You think you just deserve everything and it should be handed to you on a silver platter.

you've discovered my secret

YOU wouldn't have to pay anything, it's a collective pot. But then in your "View" I would have to pay for you, christ American's are selfish bastards when it comes to money.
-
It's not selfish. It's my money, I shouldn't have to pay for you. That's just common sense. Also maybe if you would have read farther in than one post you would have replied logically.
-
Then we might as well not pay taxes and keep all of our money right? America had a national health service before it was privitised and cut off 50 million people from having healthcare. Guess what causes the most bankrupts in America? Healthcare bills. How many people have become bankrupt in the UK because of healthcare bills? Nobody. Everybody helps each other by paying into the pot that funds the NHS plus extra that gets put into the budget my government so like it or not you are helping fund the NHS. You also claim competition will lower prices.........have a look at the American system. Corporations inflate prices, insurance companies do one thing and one thing only, find any reason not to pay out and to raise the prices every time you make a claim. A persons life is not a car or house so shouldn't be treated as such, it cannot be replaced. If you are born with a condition then the chances are you cannot get health insurance while in the UK you get it no questions asked. You would rather watch people die apparently. Nothing you can say will look anymore selfish because the back bone of your arguments and people like is "It's my money". Pathetic.

Stop trying to make me look like the bad guy. I'll come out and say it. I care more about my family than any of you or myself. For all I care -blam!- you guys until my family is safe. I work so that they're ok. The same thing everyone should do. Your life is your responsibility. If you have a disability that makes you unable to support yourself that's different. While it should be the parents' responsibility to take care of them that's not always possible. They don't have the chance everyone else does. They need help.
-
Yea lets see if you change your tune when you go bankrupt and need to use the government funded option and see if you still think its a bad idea.
-
You're an idiot. Please don't discuss healthcare
-
That cute, insult and claim I am wrong yet nothing to say why I am wrong. Do one.
-
Can you just answer me one question? I doubt you'll be able to though. Why should I have to fund YOUR healthcare, at the expense of my family?
-
Finally another logical person on this thread, thank you.
-
Edited by lonepaul2441: 2/9/2014 6:58:55 PMBecause I would be funding yours. Share the load and everything is actually cheaper in the long run, it's like sharing a taxi with strangers going to the same street as you and you split the fare, everybody wins. Hell if you don't like it go private instead but don't deny the Universal healthcare system for millions of people just because YOU don't like the concept. The NHS is the main healthcare provider in the UK and we still have private hospital's and the NHS and Private hospitals work hand in hand to provide you with the cheapest and best healthcare possible. Either the NHS pays the bill to the private hospital when they send a patient to the hospital or the private hospital pays to use NHS resources when it requires it (Big surgeries for example are done in NHS run hospitals).
-
I dont NEED you to fund mine. And i dont want you to fund mine. I want to be able to pay top dollar for top service. Sorry, I hate the concept. I'll never be for it and I'll do anything I can to fight against it.
-
Sorry, I hate the concept. I'll never be for it and I'll do anything I can to fight against it.
Well, you lost.
-
I know, its sad that the majority of Americans also lost.
