ranking leads to boosting... and boosting is for bad kids. Just keep it simple kills/deaths/assists/win percentage

I don't see boosting to be a problem anyways. If the kid boosted to rank 50 so what? If he/she messes up next game his/her rank would just drop. If the person doesn't play and just uses the rank to show off it'll drop eventually. Sure K/D is very important to me too, I always strive to get positive (except in Reach's Invasion, gosh that dropped my K/D).

Lol infection and grifball ruined my k/d
ranking leads to boosting... and boosting is for bad kids. Just keep it simple kills/deaths/assists/win percentage
I don't understand. I think you're contradicting yourself. Also it should be purely win/loss ratio. Nothing else matters. It comes with winning.

A person could just play with really good players and just end up getting tons of wins. This happens a lot with me and my friends, a handful of us are good players and since I don't judge I let anyone play with us so sometimes he/she may bring down the team but we still win. A combination would be better for it shows both true skill and team work skill at a glance.

I am not talking about playing with good players and always winning... that is just playing smart. I am talking about groups of 6 or 7 that team up in a 4v4 match and killing the poor kid who gets matched up with them until he quits... or even worse, a party of 8 with guests that just kill each others guests. I can't count how many times I saw this in H3 and Reach.

Edited by Jordy: 2/4/2014 8:49:22 PMSo by removing rank you remove boosting in kill/deaths/assists/win% also? Every mp game I've played players exploited, some more so than others, one thing won't prevent them from cheating across the board, many mp games were still enjoyable regardless of the cheaters.

Not saying it will get rid of boosting... but it might help. One of the main reasons it was left out of Reach and H4. If they are going to set up a system for rank like H2 and H3... it will need a lot of work. But cool with me if it works.

Bungie know what their fan base enjoy and it would of been brought up and discussed upon I'm sure and they would of got there best minds working on something that's better. I hope they learned from reach and when they we're fine tuning a new model from what was good about halo 3 & 2 they looked at others for inspiration (cod) and half arsed what made halo great, to try and please everyone by implementing other ideas. You might as well nail the thing your good at instead of trying to be good at everything.
