I don't usually care about news like this, but why is news so fucking depressing all the time?
Just makes the world look shit; I bet the mainstream media has played a huge role in the statistics of suicide.

I think the more important question is what kind of parents raise teenagers that would do something like this to an 86 year old man sitting in his home. If they wanted to rob him, fine, but why stab and beat him nearly to death?

Maybe because the media is more accurate than you or I would want to believe, and the world is genuinely more shit than the current consensus believes it is. There are 7 billion people on this planet, and almost all of them are -blam!-s.
