Robocop isn't for kids(see also: murphy's full death scene in Robocop 1). it loses the drama and grit and keeps nothing but the cheese of 80s and 90s action movies. the enemies are rogue robots; he's not from Asimov's world. it just plain doesn't make much sense what the reboot is going for. not even good actors can salvage a shitty script. hell robocop 3 was so far away from the books that the author quit the project.
