Edited by Tartan 118: 1/31/2014 6:18:07 PMBoss fights. And not every objective was approachable in multiple ways: one involved breaking into an office in the Detroit police station, and was only possible if your hacking level was high enough. Which required a Praxis Point, which required XP. Still an amazing game, and stylistically, thematically, the second best game of the generation, behind only BioShock.

Thankfully they fixed the boss fights in the Directors cut.
-
So I heard. Not rebuying it just for them, though.
-
I thought the police station you could either persuade the desk sergeant or go in the back door?
-
That was just to get in. I think it was getting info on Megan's kidnapper or something, you HAD to hack into an office. So there I was, prowling Detroit streets for Ballers and beating them up for the Praxis and not just the practice.
-
Huh. I guess I just liked the hack mini game so I invested early...
-
It was good fun, and more tactical than BioShock's. I can't remember how I upgraded. I think heavily on stealth abilities, including the ability to see through walls.
-
I tried to get light upgrades all around at first, so nothing like full invisibility or the typhoon weapon, and then later I tried to get the bonuses that would be useful most of the time. Although it seemed like getting extra battery packs was a useless upgrade because they didn't recharge if you depleted them. THAT was annoying.

All the fuzz about the boss fights were a bit overreacted. They played a really minor role in the game. On Bioshock, i never played the first 2, but if theyre even close to the boredom that is Infinite, i can tell you that i dont like them at all.
-
But still. For a game that touted choice above all else, from a series that touted choice above all else, they were an unwelcome and suffocating design choice. Bio1 and 2 have far superior combat and gameplay, and thematically are more interesting than Infinite's look at race and religion, though both games deal with free will or the illusion thereof, and Bio1 and 2 are more biology-driven than Infinite's theoretical physics.
-
I think it may be one of the best stealth games I've ever played
-
I found the combat, music, and characters kinda poop.
-
Please dont tell me you like a game like Skyrim over this...
-
but I really like skyrim but like dark souls more.
-
Yeah I didn't really enjoy it either.
