It were 60 million not 6, you anti-semitic bastard.
-
Gotta say, Daz destroyed you in this sub thread.
-
Banning public stoning is anti-Christian. Two can play this game.
-
If you ban circumcision, there literally won't be anymore Jews. None of them will get circumcised as adults, so they will disappear over time; that's not okay. Not to mention, I have a hard time acknowledging the validity of an anti-circumcision position coming fromm someone who is pro-choice. Killing babies is okay, but minor surgeries are totally the most evil thing ever, right?
-
Obvious trolling. And it is illegal to abort babies, that's why it's banned after a certain point in the pregnancy. I don't consider developmental tissue without organs or a functioning brain capable of thought or emotion t be a person. It's like saying taking a brain dead individual off life support is murder. It's about where the line is drawn in what makes a person a person. I personally view capability of thought to be the defining point in what is and isn't a person.
-
What makes you think I'm trolling?
-
Because it's such a hilariously stupid assertion.
-
Abortion is murder. Go away now.
-
Stopping a human being from developing is murder? Is the prevention of pregnancy murder since that is potential life?
-
You're not stopping a human from developing, you're killing a human being that already exists.

None of them will get circumcised as adults, so they will disappear over time; that's not okay.
What? A Jew doesn't have to be circumcised to be a Jew.
As pointed out in a recent article by Jewish scientist and blogger Rebecca Steinfeld, under Jewish law a boy with a Jewish mother is a Jew, whether he is circumcised or not: circumcision does not confer Jewish status.
And even if it did, too--blam!-ing-bad. It's not moral to forcibly remove a part of someone else's body without their consent just so they can join a club. If a religion were to exist (and some may cross over here) that, as a condition of entry, required the removal of the appendix, would you be OK with that? Would you be OK with someone who was a member of this religion but not licensed to practice any kind of medicine removing people's - including newborn's - appendixes? I'm serious about this; how far would be willing to allow this to go? Removal of earlobes? Entire ears? Fingertips? Fingers to the knuckle? Skinning the finger? Hobbling? Amputation of limbs? Ritual killings (aka. honour killings)? Draw the line in the sand for me.

I wish doctors had removed my appendix when I was a baby. It's a useless organ, and all it does is sit there ticking like a time bomb.
-
false. the appendix has a purpose. it is there to help replenish good bacteria in the digestive system after an illness.

Edited by Elrond Hubbard: 1/29/2014 8:46:26 PMAlas! The true reason for circumcision is revealed! Circumcison isn't about hygiene, it's about parents having control over their children. Health benefits are a convenient coincidence.

Answer my questions, please.
-
1. To be a religious Jew, yes they do have to be circumcised, as far as I know. If it's not a requirement, why do they do it? It's part of their Covenant. 2. Why are you saying 'not licensed to perform'? Circumcisions are performed by licensed doctors. And, removal of the appendix is much more invasive then circumcision. All of those other procedures are quite incomparable. 3. You did not address my point; you're okay with killing babies, but a minor medical procedure that ultimately causes no harm is totally unacceptable?
-
At a Jew's bris they are circumcised by people without a medical license.

It's part of their Covenant.
According to the quote of the Jewish scientist I gave you, that's not true. If they're doing it for other reasons, then you should find them out and tell us what they are.
2. Why are you saying 'not licensed to perform'? Circumcisions are performed by licensed doctors.
Not all of them. Some Jewish mohels, for example. Like this one who clearly isn't licensed, who...
removes the foreskin from the baby's penis, and with his mouth sucks the blood from the incision to cleanse the wound
...and gave the baby herpes and it died.
And, removal of the appendix is much more invasive then circumcision. All of those other procedures are quite incomparable.
That wasn't my point. How far would you let the surgeries, mutilations, and removals go before you didn't approve? Or are you saying only non-invasive surgeries are OK, and you're OK with skinning newborn babys' fingers, earlobe removal, etc...?
-
No, because those things are A) 100% useless, and B) not part of any religious ceremony. As for the unlicensed Orthodox Jew circumcision, I doubt that is legal, and if it is, it shouldn't be. Such a procedure should only be performed by medical professionals.
-
Useless? If I have my child's fingers and legs removed, they don't have to worry about cleaning them or contracting hundreds of diseases or infections, like gangrene or frostbite. Honour killings are also great because they absolve my family of all the shame my child has brought upon us. They've also prevalent under Sharia Law (see: middle-east).
As for the unlicensed Orthodox Jew circumcision, I doubt that is legal, and if it is, it shouldn't be. Such a procedure should only be performed by medical professionals.
Well, it is legal (AFAIK), and that's yet another reason why it's so appalling.
